Ryan Abou El Nai has recently emerged as one of the most promising talents in the Paris Saint-Germain academy, after attracting attention with his performances for the youth teams, making him a player of interest for both the club and national teams.
Paris Saint-Germain previously announced the extension of the young player's contract until 2027, a move that reflects the club’s confidence in his abilities and his potential future promotion to the first team.
Continuous Progress Inside PSG Academy
Ryan Abou El Nai is 18 years old and is capable of playing in midfield as well as on the wing, giving him valuable tactical versatility. He began his football journey with French side Drancy before joining Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024.
During the current season, he featured regularly with the club’s Under-19 side, contributing with goals and assists, while also delivering strong performances in the UEFA Youth League.
One of his standout matches came against Real Madrid in the semi-finals, where he played the full match, impressed in midfield, and successfully converted his penalty kick.
International Race Between Egypt and Algeria
The player is eligible to represent more than one national team, as he was born in France to an Egyptian father and an Algerian mother. This allows him to choose between Egypt National Team, Algeria National Team, or France.
Reports indicate that the Egyptian Football Association is attempting to convince the player to represent Egypt, especially since he has not yet played for any French youth national teams, while Algeria remains a strong contender for his international future.
With his continued development at Paris Saint-Germain and his recent promotion to the Under-23 side, Ryan Abou El Nai remains a strong candidate to take bigger steps in the coming years, whether at club level or with the national team he eventually chooses.
