Champions’ Deal: Palm Hills Signs Squash Stars In New Sports Development Project

In a move that once again proves Egypt continues to write the history of world squash in golden letters, Palm Hills Club officially announced the signing of two of the sport’s greatest legends, Nour El Sherbini and Karim Abdel Gawad, opening a new chapter filled with ambition and major goals — not only on the local and international stage, but also within a long-term project aimed at building a new Olympic generation ahead of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
World Champions Lead New Sporting Project
The signings were far more than ordinary transfers. They sent a clear message that Palm Hills aims to become one of the world’s leading hubs for developing squash champions, relying on players who have shaped Egypt’s dominance on the biggest international stages for years.
Nour El Sherbini, who cemented her status as one of the greatest squash players in history after becoming the record-holder for World Championship titles, said during her presentation that she views this step as a unique partnership with goals that go beyond competition itself, stressing that Palm Hills’ strong support for squash played a major role in her decision.
Meanwhile, former world champion Karim Abdel Gawad described the move as the beginning of a new phase in his career, especially with the project being connected to major international tournaments and ambitions that extend beyond traditional competition.
Palm Hills Backs Egyptian Squash
The announcement comes alongside the hosting of the 2025-2026 CIB and Palm Hills Squash World Championship, taking place at Palm Hills October courts with the participation of the world’s top players and prize money reaching nearly $1.3 million, further highlighting the growing investment in the sport within Egypt.
What stands out is that the project is not limited to hosting tournaments or signing stars. It also focuses on building a complete system aimed at discovering talents and preparing champions capable of maintaining Egypt’s global dominance, especially after squash was officially added to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games program — a development that gives the sport exceptional importance in Egypt over the coming years.
The recent moves also reflect Egypt’s ambition to establish itself as a global hub for sports tourism, benefiting from modern infrastructure and advanced facilities capable of hosting major international sporting events, at a time when global tournaments have become a key element in both sports and tourism promotion.
Between the legacy created by stars like Nour El Sherbini and Karim Abdel Gawad, and a project looking firmly toward the future, Palm Hills appears to be planning not only to win titles, but to shape a new era that could redefine the global squash map from the heart of Egypt.
