Bezerra’s Readiness Boosts Zamalek’s Morale Ahead Of The African Final

Hours before Zamalek’s most important match of the season, anticipation is rising inside the White Castle ahead of the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final against Algeria’s USM Alger.
Amid massive fan pressure and the dream of a continental return, the name Juan Bezerra stands out as the key weapon Zamalek will rely on to overturn the result and script another memorable night at Cairo Stadium.
Bezerra’s Readiness Before the Final
Zamalek enters the clash under heavy pressure after losing the first leg 1-0, which means the team must win by at least two goals to lift the continental title. However, indications from inside the club suggest that head coach Medhat Abdel-Hamid has regained one of his most important attacking weapons at the perfect time.
Bezerra, who recently missed out on the starting lineup due to a hip injury, informed both the technical and medical staff that he is fully ready to feature from the first minute after successfully passing medical and fitness tests, making him close to leading Zamalek’s attack in the most crucial game of the season.
In recent weeks, the Brazilian winger has established himself as the most influential player in the squad, whether through goals, assists, or decisive individual moments in difficult situations. He has already delivered key performances against Pyramids FC and Belouizdad, and even came close to changing the first leg against USM Alger after scoring a brilliant goal that was later disallowed following a penalty decision against Zamalek.
Why Is Zamalek Banking on Bezerra?
The numbers clearly highlight his impact, as he has contributed to 19 goals this season between scoring and assisting, making him the most influential attacking player in the squad and one of the most impactful foreign players Zamalek has had in recent years.
This strong influence has led several former Zamalek stars to insist on his inclusion in the starting lineup for the final. Bashir Al-Tabi described him as “half of Zamalek’s strength,” while Tamer Abdel Hamid “Donga” stressed that his presence offers the team different attacking solutions, especially with his ability to dribble and break down defensive structures.
On the other hand, USM Alger’s left defensive flank appears to be one of their weakest areas, after the team struggled with inconsistency in that position recently. This could give Bezerra the space he needs to make a difference.
Despite the optimism surrounding his return, there are still concerns among Zamalek supporters due to the team’s inconsistent performances in recent matches, even though results have been positive domestically.
Inside Zamalek, however, the message is clear ahead of the final: there is no voice louder than the “remontada.” The club believes that winning the Confederation Cup would not just be another continental trophy, but a chance to save the entire season and restore stability after a long period of challenges, both on and off the pitch.
All eyes are now on Juan Bezerra — the player who has become more than just a winger for Zamalek fans, but the “key” to their African comeback dream and a potential step toward a historic double that could restore the club’s glory.
