Egypt Rule World Squash as Asal and Hania Stay No. 1 and Orfi Rises to No. 2

Egyptian squash continued to shine on the world stage after the latest professional players’ rankings for June showed a strong Egyptian presence in the top positions. Mostafa Asal kept his place at the top of the men’s ranking, while Hania El Hammamy remained world number one in the women’s ranking. Amina Orfi also made an important jump after moving up to second place in the world.
The new ranking confirmed that Egypt still has the strongest voice in squash. Having Asal and Hania at the top, along with Orfi’s rise to second place, shows the continued strength of Egyptian players and their ability to compete in the biggest tournaments.
Clear Egyptian Dominance
In the men’s ranking, Mostafa Asal remained world number one, confirming his status as one of the biggest stars in the sport today. New Zealand’s Paul Coll came in second place, while Egypt’s Karim Abdel Gawad took third, keeping Egypt strongly present inside the top three.
The Egyptian presence did not stop there, as Youssef Ibrahim came fifth, Mohamed Zakaria ranked eighth, and Marwan ElShorbagy came ninth. This proves that Egypt has more than one player capable of competing among the best in the world.
In the women’s ranking, Hania El Hammamy continued to lead the world rankings, proving that she is one of the strongest female squash players in the world. However, the biggest highlight was Amina Orfi’s rise to second place after winning the British Open, a major achievement that gave her a strong push in the rankings.
Orfi’s rise came at the expense of Nour El Sherbini, who dropped to third place. This confirms that the battle for the top of women’s squash has become clearly Egyptian, with three Egyptian players occupying the first three positions in the world.
Amina Orfi.. The Start of a New Chapter
Amina Orfi’s rise to second place in the world did not happen by chance. It came after strong results and a major title that she managed to win. This progress shows that Amina is no longer just a talent for the future, but a real contender for the world number one spot.
Having Amina in second place behind Hania El Hammamy and ahead of Nour El Sherbini makes the coming period more exciting, especially as the three players represent different generations of Egyptian squash strength.
The women’s ranking also included Fayrouz Aboelkheir in sixth place, adding more power to Egypt’s presence among the world’s best players. This confirms that Egypt does not only have champions at the top, but also has a strong base of players who can climb higher in the future.
The new ranking confirms that Egypt remains the toughest force in world squash. The men’s top spot is Egyptian, the women’s top spot is Egyptian, and the fight for the leading positions includes more than one Egyptian player.
Between the experience of the big stars and the ambition of the new names, Egyptian squash continues to write a new chapter of success. The coming tournaments are expected to bring even stronger competition, and the main headline may once again be a new Egyptian battle for the top of the game.
