Hania El Hammamy Wins World Tour Finals and Secures Year-End No. 1 Ranking

Hania El Hammamy ended the 2025-26 squash season on a high after winning the World Tour Finals title in Paris and securing the year-end world number one ranking.
The Egyptian star defeated Malaysia's Sivasangari Subramaniam 3-1 in the final to claim one of the biggest titles on the professional circuit and confirm her place at the top of the women's game heading into the new season.
The World Tour Finals bring together the best players in the world at the end of each campaign, making the title one of the most prestigious achievements outside the World Championships.
Title and Top Ranking Secured
El Hammamy entered the tournament knowing that the battle for the world number one ranking remained one of the major stories of the season.
Fellow Egyptian Amina Orfi was among the players hoping to challenge for top spot, but her run ended in the semi-finals, ensuring that El Hammamy would finish the season as the world's highest-ranked player.
Rather than settling for the ranking alone, El Hammamy completed the job by lifting the trophy in Paris, combining the title with the number one position.
The final was far from straightforward. Sivasangari arrived with confidence after an impressive tournament, but El Hammamy responded strongly after dropping the second game and showed her experience to close out the match 3-1.
Egypt's Squash Dominance Continues
El Hammamy's success highlighted once again the depth of Egyptian squash at the highest level.
With players such as Amina Orfi, Nour El Sherbini and Fayrouz Aboelkheir continuing to compete among the world's best, Egypt remains the leading force in the women's game.
The title was also El Hammamy's second triumph at the World Tour Finals, further strengthening her position among the sport's elite players.
Her victory comes at an important time for squash as the sport moves closer to its Olympic debut at Los Angeles 2028, giving added significance to major titles and rankings in the years ahead.
For El Hammamy, the season could hardly have ended in a better way. She leaves Paris with another major trophy, the world number one ranking and renewed confidence ahead of the challenges that await next season.
