Al Ahly Close to Signing Mahmoud Salah in Deal Worth Up to EGP 50 Million

Al Ahly are close to completing another signing during the current summer transfer window after reaching an agreement with Ghazl El Mahalla over the transfer of young winger Mahmoud Salah.
The deal is reportedly worth EGP 40 million, with an additional EGP 10 million in performance-related bonuses, while Ghazl El Mahalla will also retain a 15% sell-on clause for any future transfer of the player.
Financial Agreement Paves the Way
Negotiations between the two clubs progressed significantly in recent hours after Ghazl El Mahalla had initially valued the player at around EGP 50 million.
Former Egypt and Al Ahly goalkeeper Ahmed Shobier reported that the transfer is now almost complete, with Mahmoud Salah expected to join the Cairo giants once the remaining procedures are finalized.
The agreement also gives Ghazl El Mahalla the opportunity to benefit financially from the player in the future through the sell-on percentage included in the deal.
Medical Test Set to Complete the Transfer
Mahmoud Salah is expected to undergo his medical examination in the coming hours before completing the contract and signing the necessary documents. The official announcement is expected once all procedures have been completed.
The young winger has attracted attention with his performances in the Egyptian league, prompting Al Ahly to move for his signature during the current transfer window.
His potential arrival also reflects Al Ahly's approach of adding young players with room for development and long-term value, while maintaining the club's core squad and avoiding the sale of key players unless significant offers arrive.
For Mahmoud Salah, the move could represent a major step in his career, with his transfer from Ghazl El Mahalla to Al Ahly now seemingly down to the final formalities.
