Al Ahly Move Quickly After Belamri Injury as Tawfik Mohamed Signs for the Red Devils

Al Ahly have moved quickly to strengthen their left-back position after suffering a major setback with Moroccan defender Youssef Belamri diagnosed with an ACL injury.
The Egyptian giants have completed the signing of Tawfik Mohamed from Petrojet, following intensive negotiations between the two clubs and an agreement over the details of the transfer.
The move comes as Al Ahly look to compensate for Belamri’s expected absence and maintain sufficient options at left-back.
A Deal Completed in Record Time
Tawfik Mohamed had previously been on Al Ahly’s radar during earlier transfer windows, although those talks did not result in a final agreement.
Belamri’s injury changed the situation, bringing the Petrojet defender back into the spotlight as Al Ahly quickly reopened negotiations.
The talks progressed rapidly, with the two clubs reaching an agreement before the player signed his transfer contract with Al Ahly.
The final procedures were completed in the latest hours, with Al Ahly’s recruitment officials present at Petrojet’s headquarters to finalize the remaining details of the transfer.
Al Ahly Continue Preparations for Barcelona Clash
At the same time, Al Ahly are continuing their preparations in Spain for their highly anticipated meeting with Barcelona on August 19 at Spotify Camp Nou in the Joan Gamper Trophy.
The match carries particular significance for both sides, as it will be Barcelona’s first game at Camp Nou following its reopening and the Catalan club’s first official appearance in front of its home supporters ahead of the new season.
For Al Ahly, the fixture represents another major international milestone, as the Egyptian and African champions become the first Egyptian and African club to participate in the Joan Gamper Trophy.
