Pyramids FC appear set to add another attacking option to their squad, with Algerian striker Nadir Benbouali of Hungarian side Győr ETO reportedly close to completing a move to the Egyptian club during the current summer transfer window.

According to Algerian media reports, Pyramids have reached a final agreement with Győr ETO over Benbouali’s transfer, with all major details reportedly settled between the three parties. The deal is now awaiting the final steps before an official announcement.

Deal Nears the Finish Line

The transfer fee is reportedly around $3.5 million, reflecting the striker’s rising profile following an impressive campaign in the Hungarian league last season.

Benbouali has already begun his medical examinations ahead of the move. He completed the first part of his medical tests on Thursday and was scheduled to undergo the remaining examinations on Friday before signing the contracts and completing the transfer, subject to passing the required tests.

Replacing Mayele and Strengthening the Attack

Pyramids’ move for Benbouali comes as the club looks to reshape its attacking options, particularly following the departure of Congolese striker Fiston Mayele on a free transfer after his contract expired at the end of last season.

The 26-year-old Benbouali enjoyed a strong campaign with Győr ETO, scoring 19 goals and providing four assists to emerge as one of the standout attacking players in the Hungarian league.

His performances also earned him international recognition with Algeria. Benbouali was part of the Algerian squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and scored during the tournament against Jordan.

The potential arrival of Benbouali would be another major attacking move for Pyramids, who announced the signing of former Al Ahly player Ahmed Abdel Kader from Iraqi side Al-Karma on Thursday as part of their preparations for the new season.
