Akram Tawfik Rejoins Al Ahly Squad in Spain for a New Chapter

Akram Tawfik has returned to Al Ahly, this time under very different circumstances and with plenty of emotion surrounding the move. After mutually terminating his contract with Qatari club Al-Shamal, the midfielder made his way back to the Cairo giants to begin a new chapter in his career.
Back Home.. and a Different Beginning
Tawfik’s return went beyond the announcement of the transfer. He quickly joined Al Ahly’s training camp in Spain and took part in his first training session with the team, receiving a warm welcome from his teammates and the coaching staff.
During the camp, Tawfik appeared alongside Karim Fouad and a member of the technical staff in a friendly atmosphere before joining the team’s training, marking the practical beginning of his return.
Al Ahly announced that Tawfik had signed a three-year contract as a free agent after reaching an agreement with Al-Shamal to end his contract.
Nine Years of Memories.. and Now a New Chapter
Tawfik’s return also carries a strong emotional dimension. He previously spent nine years at Al Ahly, a period he described as one of the most memorable stages of his football career. He also expressed his longing for El-Tetsh Stadium and the club’s supporters.
Before the move was finalized, there had been speculation about his next destination, including reports linking him with Pyramids FC. However, a source within Pyramids denied that the club had negotiated with or shown interest in signing the player, describing the reports as inaccurate.
With his return to Al Ahly now completed, Tawfik has put the transfer speculation behind him and started a fresh chapter in the red shirt. The focus now shifts to the pitch, where he will look to regain his place and contribute to Al Ahly’s plans for the upcoming period.
