Pyramids FC are undergoing a major squad reshuffle during the summer transfer window, combining a number of departures with new additions ahead of the upcoming season.

Seven players have already left the club for different reasons, while the Egyptian side is also closing in on a new attacking addition in the form of Algerian forward Nadir Benbouali.

The list of departures includes veteran goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy, who ended his football career after announcing his retirement, while Congolese striker Fiston Mayele left following the expiration of his contract.

Mohamed Hamdy also departed after his loan spell from ENPPI came to an end. Goalkeeper Ahmed Meheoub moved permanently to Smouha after the club activated his purchase option, while Tarek Alaa joined ZED on a permanent deal after his purchase clause was triggered.

The departures also include Marwan Hamdy, who moved to Iraqi side Al-Karma, and Zambian player Pascal Virey, who joined Al-Ittihad of Alexandria on loan.

Pyramids still have two cases to settle, with the futures of defender Abdelrahman Gouda and Nigerian Samuel Amosa yet to be finalized before the transfer window closes.

At the same time, Pyramids are working to prepare their new arrivals for the upcoming season, including Ahmed Abdelkader, who joined the club from Iraqi side Al-Karma.

Abdelkader is currently following a special rehabilitation program designed to bring him to the required level of fitness before he becomes a regular option. Head coach Mokeena has also spoken with the player, urging him to remain focused and make the most of his opportunity with the team.

The 27-year-old has previously played for Al Ahly, Smouha, Sparta Prague, Qatar SC and Al-Karma. According to the source, he has made 236 appearances throughout his career, scoring 46 goals and providing 27 assists.

Meanwhile, Pyramids have reached an agreement with Hungarian club Győr for the signing of Algerian striker Nadir Benbouali.

According to the Algerian source, the transfer is worth $2 million initially, with a further $500,000 available through performance-related bonuses, taking the potential total value of the deal to $2.5 million.

Benbouali is expected to sign a three-year contract, with an annual salary of around $1.1 million, although the final administrative and legal procedures still need to be completed before the move is officially announced.

Pyramids' transfer activity points to a clear strategy of rebuilding the squad. The club is not only bringing in new players but is also clearing space by allowing several names to leave, while targeting key reinforcements, particularly in attack.
