Mohamed Abdel Nasser’s move to Al Ahly has not been canceled, but rather postponed as a result of technical considerations at Arab Contractors. Head coach Samy Komsan recommended keeping the young midfielder with the team during the first half of the new season.

Al Ahly had reached an agreement with Arab Contractors over the player’s transfer, while Abdel Nasser also agreed to a five-year contract with the Cairo giants. However, the move has been delayed for six months, with January now expected to be the new date for completing the transfer.

Mohamed Abdel Nasser emerged as part of Al Ahly’s plans to strengthen its squad, particularly due to his ability to play as an attacking midfielder and on the wings.

Born in 2006, Abdel Nasser was promoted to Arab Contractors’ first team in January 2024. He attracted attention through his performances and had previously been linked with a potential trial spell at Spanish club Real Betis, although the move was never completed.

During his time with Arab Contractors, Abdel Nasser made 30 Egyptian Premier League appearances, scoring twice and providing two assists. He also featured in the Egyptian League Cup and Egyptian Cup, in addition to representing Egypt at youth level.

Samy Komsan Delays the Move Until January

Despite the agreement between the two clubs, Samy Komsan believes Abdel Nasser’s presence will be important during the first half of the campaign, particularly as Arab Contractors prepare for a demanding league schedule.

As a result, the player’s move to Al Ahly has been postponed until the January transfer window. Abdel Nasser is expected to remain with Arab Contractors through the first half of the season before completing his move to Al Ahly.

The decision comes as Arab Contractors have made significant changes to their squad ahead of the new campaign. The team is scheduled to begin its league campaign against Tala'ea El Gaish on August 22, with difficult fixtures against Al Ahly, Zamalek and Pyramids also ahead.
