Al Ahly have not only rejected the possibility of selling Imam Ashour, but appear determined to keep the midfielder despite growing interest from abroad. The latest move came from Turkish side Konyaspor, which has continued its attempts to sign the Egypt international during the current summer transfer window.

Al Ahly officially rejected the Turkish proposal, stressing that Ashour is not available for sale this season. The decision has put the spotlight back on the player’s future, particularly as interest from clubs outside Egypt continues to grow.

Turkish Interest Meets Al Ahly’s Firm Stance

Different figures have emerged regarding Konyaspor’s offer for Ashour. Earlier reports indicated that the Turkish club had submitted lower bids before improving its proposal, while a Turkish report claimed that the offer had reached $7.5 million as Konyaspor continued pushing to complete the deal, especially with a foreign-player spot available in its squad.

Al Ahly, however, made its position clear by sending an official response to the Turkish club and confirming that Ashour is not for sale during the current season.

The decision comes as the Egyptian club seeks to retain its key players while also working on securing Ashour’s long-term future. Reports have linked the midfielder with negotiations over improved financial terms and a potential contract extension.

Konyaspor is not the only club reportedly interested in the player. Saudi side Al-Ittihad has also been linked with a move for Ashour, meaning his future could remain one of the most closely watched transfer stories until the window closes.

The growing international interest in Imam Ashour is closely linked to his performances at the 2026 World Cup, where he scored twice for Egypt, finding the net against Belgium and Australia.

His performances in the tournament added another dimension to his profile and increased his appeal to clubs outside Egypt, following his move to Al Ahly in the summer of 2023.
