Fabinho Nears Trabzonspor Move and Reunion With Mohamed Salah

Trabzonspor appear determined to build on the major impact created by the signing of Mohamed Salah, with the Turkish club now closing in on another familiar face for the Egyptian star. Reports suggest that Brazilian midfielder Fabinho has reached a preliminary agreement to join the club during the summer transfer window.
If the move is completed, Salah and Fabinho would reunite after several successful years together at Liverpool, potentially adding more experience and quality to Trabzonspor’s squad for the new season.
Preliminary Deal Brings Fabinho Closer to Trabzonspor
Reports indicate that Trabzonspor have reached a verbal agreement with Fabinho to sign him as a free agent after the Brazilian midfielder became available following the end of his contract with Saudi club Al-Ittihad on June 30.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Fabinho could travel to Turkey in the coming hours to undergo a medical examination and complete the final steps of the move, with his agent Jorge Mendes handling negotiations with the Turkish club.
A Liverpool Partnership Returns in Turkey
Should the transfer be finalized, Mohamed Salah and Fabinho would play together again after sharing the pitch at Liverpool from 2018 to 2023, a period in which they enjoyed major success with the English club before the Brazilian midfielder later moved to Saudi Arabia.
During his time at Al-Ittihad, Fabinho made 111 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists. He was also part of the team that won the Saudi Pro League and the King’s Cup during the 2024-25 season.
After securing the high-profile signing of Mohamed Salah, Trabzonspor could now be on the verge of bringing another former Liverpool star to the club. Fabinho’s arrival would revive one of the familiar partnerships from Liverpool, this time in Turkey, and could further strengthen the club’s ambitions for the upcoming season.
