Juan Bezerra’s dispute with Zamalek has developed from a disagreement over his future into a far more complicated standoff after the Brazilian winger appeared in a TikTok livestream while continuing to stay away from the team and Cairo.

Bezerra’s appearance drew particular attention because it came after a lengthy absence from Zamalek’s training sessions, with the player pushing for a transfer while the club insists on protecting its contractual rights and refusing to sanction his departure without an official agreement.

Fans Push, Bezerra Responds

The livestream lasted for more than half an hour and attracted significant interaction from Zamalek supporters, many of whom repeatedly urged the Brazilian to return to Cairo and rejoin the squad.

Messages calling on Bezerra to come back were posted thousands of times. During the early stages of the broadcast, the player interacted with followers without discussing his dispute with Zamalek in detail.

However, the situation later took a more dramatic turn. According to several reports, a supporter directly asked Bezerra to return to Zamalek, only for the Brazilian winger to make his position clear by indicating that he would not return.

His response angered a section of the club’s supporters, particularly as Zamalek have already started their domestic campaign without him following his absence from the entire preseason period.

The dispute originally emerged from Bezerra’s determination to seek a new challenge away from Zamalek. Earlier in August, he publicly expressed his desire to leave and claimed there had previously been an understanding that the club would accept a suitable transfer offer.

Zamalek, however, rejected the idea that the player could force his way out, stressing that his contract remains valid and that staying away from training does not give him the right to determine his future unilaterally.

Zamalek Protect Their Rights

Bezerra still has three seasons remaining on his Zamalek contract, giving the Egyptian club a strong contractual position in the dispute.

According to media reports, the Brazilian earns close to $450,000 per season, with his salary increasing by around $50,000 annually. Reports have also stated that he received all the financial dues owed to him from last season.

Bezerra has meanwhile been strongly linked with a move to UAE side Shabab Al Ahli. Reports have suggested a gap between the two clubs’ valuations, with an offer of around $4 million mentioned while Zamalek are reportedly seeking approximately $6 million.

No official agreement allowing the player to leave has been announced, and Zamalek have maintained that they have not granted permission for him to join another club.

Other reports also suggest that Zamalek are preparing to escalate the matter legally by compiling a case regarding Bezerra’s prolonged absence, with the possibility of taking the dispute to FIFA if no settlement is reached.

A livestream lasting only a matter of minutes has therefore added another major chapter to one of Zamalek’s most complicated disputes of the summer. Supporters want Bezerra back, the player wants out, and the club refuses to surrender its contractual rights.

Unless the two sides reach a negotiated settlement, the dispute could soon move beyond social media and into either formal transfer negotiations or a legal battle.
