Pyramids FC is under significant pressure ahead of their crucial matches against Zamalek in the league and the Egypt Cup final due to a series of impactful injuries that have hit some of the team’s key players, most notably Mustafa Fathi, Mohamed Shiby, and Mahmoud Zlaka. These injuries could severely affect the team’s lineup in the upcoming matches.

Mustafa Fathi’s Injury

Mustafa Fathi, the team’s playmaker, suffered a clavicle dislocation during the friendly match against Helwan, which required urgent surgery. The scans confirmed that the player needs immediate surgery, and the length of his absence will be determined based on the surgery results. In his statements, Hani Said mentioned that the clavicle fracture had ended Fathi’s season with the team, confirming that he would not be available for the Egyptian national team in the World Cup. This injury comes at a very sensitive time, increasing concerns among the coaching staff and fans alike.

Shiby and Zlaka: Absence and Rehabilitation

Mohamed Shiby, the team’s right-back, sustained a knee injury during the same match, forcing him to leave before the end of the second half. Shiby is currently undergoing medical tests to assess the severity of the injury. Meanwhile, Mahmoud Zlaka, the left-winger, suffered a severe calf contusion during a previous training session, causing him to miss the Helwan friendly. Zlaka is currently undergoing a rehabilitation and physiotherapy program, aiming to return to the lineup as soon as possible.

Other Injuries Affecting Pyramids FC

In addition to the three aforementioned injuries, Pyramids FC is dealing with other absences that affect the team’s stability. Defender Mahmoud Marai is sidelined due to a recent muscle tear in his hamstring and is currently undergoing rehabilitation. The Helwan friendly also saw the return of Walid El-Karti after a long absence due to a hamstring tear, but his participation was very brief (only 10 minutes).

As for the left-back Mohamed Hamdy, he continues to recover from an ACL injury that has kept him out of action for several months. He is currently following a muscle strengthening program as part of his rehabilitation, but he is not expected to return to action anytime soon.

These injuries significantly weaken Pyramids FC’s lineup at a time when the team needs to be in peak condition for crucial matches. With several key players absent, it will be challenging for the team to deliver the expected performance in both the league and the Egypt Cup matches, increasing the challenges the coach faces at this critical juncture.
