Ibrahim Adel Reveals Al Ahly Contact and Sparks Pyramids Discontent

Under the watchful eyes of Al Ahly fans, Ibrahim Adel, the midfielder for Danish club Nordjylland, emerges as one of the top candidates to strengthen the Red team's squad during the upcoming summer transfer window. The 24-year-old, who previously played for Pyramids FC, is now just one step away from returning to the Egyptian league through Al Ahly, with strong interest from the club's management to bolster the team for the next season.
Al Ahly's negotiations with Ibrahim Adel
Adel, who has excelled at Nordjylland this season, revealed in a television interview that he received an offer from Al Ahly during the past winter transfer window. He was contacted by Mohamed Elneny, the midfielder for Al Jazira UAE, who informed him of Al Ahly's director of football, Sayed Abdel-Hafeez's desire to bring him to the club. However, Adel had already made his decision to move to Nordjylland after reaching an agreement with Pyramids FC officials.
In his statement, Adel confirmed that his long-standing dream was to play in European leagues, which led him to take this step. Despite receiving a $3 million offer from a European club, he chose to move to Denmark as part of his journey to fulfill his dream.
Adel's conditions for joining Al Ahly
Although Al Ahly appears close to signing Ibrahim Adel, the deal may face complications due to the financial terms set by the player. Adel, who still has a contract with Nordjylland until the end of the season, is requesting an annual salary of around $1 million, in addition to extra earnings from image rights and commercial partnerships. These demands could impact the negotiations and complicate matters, given the financial situation Al Ahly is experiencing after their disappointing exit from the CAF Champions League.
Pyramids' frustration with the negotiations
On the other hand, Pyramids FC’s management expressed their frustration with Adel's recent comments about his experience with the club, where the player stated that he didn’t feel clear in his objectives during his first period with the team, noting that the atmosphere of Al Ahly’s matches was different from others. Adel also mentioned his reluctance to return to Pyramids after his experiences in the UAE and Denmark.
According to sources inside Pyramids, the timing of Adel's statements may be an attempt to win the favor of Al Ahly fans, in a bid to pressure the club’s management into finalizing the transfer. Nevertheless, the key question remains: will Adel continue his European career, or will he return to Egypt via Al Ahly? A final decision is expected to be made by the end of May.
