In a scene that reflected the mutual appreciation that has accompanied Egypt's journey at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Egyptian national team's coaching staff, led by twin brothers Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan, made a special gesture toward Gonzaga University, which hosted the Pharaohs' training sessions during their stay in Spokane, Washington. The gesture came just hours before the team departed to prepare for their highly anticipated Round of 32 clash against Australia.
A Special Farewell to Gonzaga University
The Egyptian coaching staff presented an official Egypt national team jersey as a commemorative gift to Gonzaga University officials. Members of the delegation also signed university jerseys and posed for group photos with university representatives, highlighting the strong relationship that developed between both sides during the team's stay, as the university provided all the necessary facilities to help Egypt prepare under ideal conditions.
The final days of Egypt's training camp in Spokane also featured an exchange of appreciation, as Mark Few, head coach of Gonzaga University's basketball team, presented his team's jersey to Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan. He expressed his admiration for the positive atmosphere within Egypt's camp and wished the Pharaohs continued success in their World Cup campaign.

Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown attended the national team's final training session to bid farewell to the Egyptian delegation before its departure to Dallas. She took commemorative photos with Egyptian Football Association president Hany Abo Rida, members of the board, the coaching staff, and the players.
