$125,000 Sparks Bezera Crisis as Zamalek Move Ahead of Pre-Season Camp

The crisis involving Brazilian winger Juan Bezera has entered a new phase ahead of Zamalek’s preparations for the upcoming season, after a financial dispute concerning his agent’s outstanding payments led to a breakdown in communication between the two sides in recent days.
Although Zamalek have settled all financial dues owed to Bezera and cleared their obligations to his former club, the issue surrounding his agent’s commission remains unresolved, becoming the final obstacle to the Brazilian winger’s return and participation in the team’s pre-season camp.
Bezera Agent’s Dispute
Sources revealed that Bezera’s agent is demanding approximately $125,000 in outstanding payments related to the player’s transfer to Zamalek, a matter that has caused tensions to escalate in recent weeks.
Bezera has supported his agent’s position and reportedly ignored attempts by Zamalek officials to contact him and determine the date of his return to Cairo, despite being officially informed of the start of the team’s pre-season preparations.
Reports indicate that the dispute is not related to any unpaid wages owed to the player himself, as Zamalek have already settled his financial dues. Instead, the issue centers on the commission claimed by his agent.
Zamalek Move to Resolve the Crisis
Zamalek officials have intensified talks with the player’s agent in an effort to reach an amicable agreement and bring the dispute to an end. Hussein El Sayed, a member of the club’s board of directors, has taken charge of following up on the matter and helping bridge the gap between the two sides.
Bezera has also requested an additional 48 hours of leave and is expected to join the team’s camp once a final solution is reached, as the club are keen to avoid his absence from the start of pre-season preparations.
Zamalek hope to close the matter quickly, particularly as Bezera is considered an important part of head coach Moatamed Gamal’s plans for the new season. The technical staff have already put in place a medical and fitness program ahead of the start of training.
The Brazilian winger has delivered impressive performances since joining Zamalek, making 44 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists. He also played a role in the club’s Egyptian Premier League title triumph last season.
While the dispute appears to be separate from Bezera’s contractual relationship with Zamalek, settling his agent’s outstanding payments remains the key to securing the winger’s return to Cairo and allowing him to begin the new season without further delays or escalation.
