Tunisian midfielder Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane is closing in on a new chapter in the Qatar Stars League after negotiations between Al Ahly and Al Shamal made significant progress during the current summer transfer window, potentially bringing his time at the Egyptian club to an end after just one season.

Ben Romdhane’s potential departure comes after a season in which he was unable to reach the level expected by Al Ahly supporters. His signing had been a long-standing goal for the club, which had attempted to bring him in during several previous transfer windows before finally securing his services from Hungarian side Ferencváros in the summer of 2025 on a four-year contract.
