Al Shabab Offer Puts Al Ahly in a Tough Spot as Yasser Ibrahim Seeks Saudi Move

The final days of the summer transfer window are becoming increasingly complicated for Al Ahly, with Yasser Ibrahim emerging as the subject of a Saudi offer. The defender reportedly wants to join Al Shabab, while the Egyptian giants remain determined to keep him.
Media figure Ahmed Shobier revealed the latest developments, stating that Yasser Ibrahim is interested in moving to Al Shabab, who have reportedly offered him a two-season contract along with a significant financial package.
Al Shabab Offer Puts Pressure on Al Ahly
The Saudi offer represents an attractive opportunity for Yasser Ibrahim, particularly as the defender looks toward a new professional experience. However, Al Ahly does not appear willing to make the decision easy.
According to Shobier, Ibrahim wants to leave, but Al Ahly have rejected the idea for now and remain committed to keeping the defender within the squad.
The club's stance is also linked to its current defensive needs. Al Ahly have not completed a new center-back signing during the ongoing summer transfer window, making the departure of an established defender a potential risk ahead of the new season.
Why Are Al Ahly Holding On to Yasser Ibrahim?
Al Ahly's position is not simply about refusing to sell an established player. It is also connected to the club's squad planning and defensive requirements ahead of the upcoming competitions.
The team is preparing to begin its Egyptian Premier League campaign against ENPPI, while also facing a major test against Barcelona on August 19 in the Joan Gamper Trophy at Spotify Camp Nou.
At the same time, Al Ahly have been active in the transfer market and have completed several deals, including Akram Tawfik, Ali Mahmoud, Oktay Abdullah, Mahmoud Salah and Tawfik Mohamed, as well as Sufian Ben Jedidia and Monsef Bekar.
For now, Yasser Ibrahim's future remains open to negotiations. What is clear from Shobier's comments is that the player wants to move to Al Shabab, while Al Ahly remain determined to keep him. The coming days could therefore decide whether the Saudi offer will change the club's position or whether the defender will continue with the Egyptian champions.
