Barcelona Names EgyptAir Global Partner for Three Seasons

From Cairo to Catalonia.. EgyptAir Joins Barcelona in Global Partnership Through 2029
EgyptAir has opened a new chapter in its international expansion strategy after signing a global partnership agreement with Spanish giants FC Barcelona running through the end of the 2028/29 season.
Under the agreement, EgyptAir becomes a “Global Partner” of Barcelona as well as the exclusive official airline partner of the men's first football team, the basketball team, and the handball team.
The partnership goes beyond conventional sponsorship rights. EgyptAir's logo will appear on the front of Barcelona's handball shirts during official matches, while the Egyptian carrier will also receive a range of marketing and promotional rights throughout the deal.
Wider Global Reach
The agreement comes as EgyptAir continues to expand its international network, modernize its fleet, improve passenger services, and strengthen its position in global aviation markets.
Partnering with Barcelona gives the Egyptian national carrier access to one of the world's largest sporting fan bases, particularly across the Middle East and Africa.
Barcelona, meanwhile, views the agreement as an opportunity to increase the club's commercial presence beyond Europe, reach new markets, and strengthen its connection with supporters in regions where the Catalan club enjoys significant popularity.
According to Spanish media reports, Barcelona is expected to receive more than €4 million annually from the partnership. The agreement also marks the club's return to this type of airline sponsorship years after its previous partnership with Qatar Airways ended.
Beyond Sponsorship
EgyptAir Holding Company chairman Ahmed Adel described the agreement as an unprecedented milestone for Egypt's national carrier, bringing together EgyptAir's nearly 95-year history with Barcelona's global sporting legacy.
EgyptAir intends to use Barcelona's international popularity to support its expansion plans, strengthen its global brand, and reinforce its role in connecting Egypt with markets and cultures around the world.
EgyptAir Airlines chairman Mohamed Alyan also stressed that the partnership extends beyond promotional benefits, pointing to shared values including excellence, commitment and teamwork.
On Barcelona's side, global sponsorship director Marc Bruix said the partnership with EgyptAir fits naturally into the club's international expansion strategy, particularly across the Middle East and Africa.
The agreement ultimately brings together two historic brands with extensive international reach. EgyptAir is betting on the global power of sport to connect with millions of fans, while Barcelona continues expanding its commercial footprint into new markets through the 2028/29 season.
