Al Ahly Maintain Perfect Start with 2-0 Win Over ZED as Bencharki Shines Again

Al Ahly claimed their second consecutive Egyptian Premier League victory after defeating ZED 2-0 at Cairo International Stadium, maintaining a perfect start to the season with maximum points from their opening two matches.
Moroccan winger Achraf Bencharkii continued his impressive form by winning the Man of the Match award for the second game in a row, while Taher Mohamed Taher produced one of the standout moments of the night by celebrating his second goal from the bench after a VAR review.
Two Goals Seal It
Al Ahly secured a 2-0 victory to collect another three points following their opening-round win.
Taher Mohamed Taher scored Al Ahly's second goal in the 61st minute, although referee Mohamed Maarouf waited for a VAR review before officially confirming it.
In an unusual scene, Taher had already been substituted, with Soufiane Benjdida replacing him, meaning he had to wait for the VAR decision from the bench before celebrating with his teammates once the goal was awarded.
The victory lifted Al Ahly to six points and second place in the standings behind leaders Pyramids, while ZED remained on one point in 16th position.
Bencharki Shines
Achraf Bencharki continued his strong start to the season by collecting his second successive Man of the Match award after receiving the same prize in the previous round.
Speaking after the match, the Moroccan stressed that securing the three points was more important than any individual recognition, describing his award as a reflection of the collective effort produced by his teammates.
Bencharki also underlined Al Ahly's ambitions for the season, with the team determined to compete strongly across all competitions.
With two wins from two matches, Al Ahly have made the most of their opening fixtures, while the early form of Bencharki and Taher's attacking contribution provide further encouragement ahead of the coming rounds.أAl Ahly Beat ZED 2-0 as Ben Sharqi Shines and Taher Celebrates from the Bench.
