Official: Mostafa Mohamed Joins Konyaspor in €750,000 Deal

Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed is preparing to open a new chapter in his European career after arriving in Turkey to complete a proposed move from French side Nantes to Konyaspor, putting him on the verge of returning to the Turkish Super Lig.
The Egypt international arrived in Turkey on Sunday morning to finalize the remaining procedures and undergo his medical examination before the transfer is officially announced.
Reports have differed over the final transfer fee. Turkish media claimed that Nantes and Konyaspor reached an agreement worth €750,000, to be paid in three installments, while other reports valued the deal at close to €1 million.
Return to Turkey
The move would mark Mostafa Mohamed’s return to Turkish football following his previous spell with Galatasaray before joining Nantes on loan in the summer of 2022.
Nantes later activated their option to sign the Egyptian striker permanently in 2023 for around €6 million. However, his situation changed considerably during the final period of his stay in France.
Mostafa Mohamed was reportedly fined after missing a training session during preseason and was later assigned to train with Nantes’ reserve team, which also kept him out of the club’s recent matches.
With his contract approaching its final stages, Nantes opted to consider a permanent transfer rather than risk losing the striker without receiving a fee later, opening the door for Konyaspor to offer him a fresh start.
Message to the Fans
Mostafa Mohamed appeared enthusiastic after arriving in Turkey, expressing his appreciation for Konyaspor and his determination to give his best during the next stage of his career.
The Egyptian forward stressed that he wants to work hard for both himself and his new club before delivering a brief message to Konyaspor supporters, making it clear that he prefers to give his answer through his performances on the pitch.
The official announcement is now expected once the remaining steps are completed, including the medical examination and administrative procedures. Turkish reports have also suggested that Konyaspor could be waiting for one of their current forwards to leave before completing the deal.
For Mostafa Mohamed, a return to the Turkish Super Lig could provide an opportunity to regain stability and regular playing time as he looks to move on from a difficult end to his spell with Nantes.
