Omar Marmoush produced an active attacking display but was unable to find the net as Tottenham Hotspur were held to a goalless draw away to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Tottenham visited the City Ground in the third round of the 2026-27 Premier League season, but neither side managed to score as the match ended 0-0.

Marmoush started for Tottenham for the second league game in a row, having also been included in the starting lineup during the previous 2-0 defeat against Newcastle United.

The Egyptian international remained on the pitch until the closing stages before being replaced around the 83rd minute by Dominic Solanke, as Tottenham looked for a fresh attacking option to find a late winner.

Missed Chances

Marmoush had more than one opportunity to put Tottenham ahead and came close to opening the scoring, but his finishing prevented him from turning his dangerous movement into a goal.

The Egyptian forward missed a good opportunity during the first half and was presented with another chance after the break, but he was unable to make the most of either situation.

Marmoush registered three shots during the match, with none of them hitting the target, while another attempt was blocked by a Nottingham Forest defender.

Although he did not score or provide an assist, Marmoush remained active in Tottenham's attack and repeatedly tried to move into dangerous spaces and take on the home side's defenders.

Tottenham were looking for a much-needed victory after a difficult start to the new season, which increased the importance of every attacking opportunity they created.

Marmoush had 26 touches during his time on the pitch and showed impressive passing accuracy, completing 11 of his 12 passes for a success rate of 92%.

His passing in the Nottingham Forest half was also strong, as he completed seven of eight attempts for an 88% success rate. He also completed all four of his passes in Tottenham's own half.

The Egyptian also tried to use his speed and dribbling ability in one-on-one situations, completing two of his three attempted dribbles, although he lost possession eight times.

Marmoush contested eight ground duels and won three of them, while he did not win an aerial duel during the match.

His performance rating ranged between 6.7 and 6.8 out of 10 across statistical platforms that covered the game. His passing and attacking movement were positive, but his failure to convert his chances prevented him from earning a higher rating.

One encouraging sign for Marmoush is that he has now started two consecutive Premier League matches for Tottenham, suggesting that he is receiving the opportunity and trust needed to establish himself as an important part of the team's attack.

For Tottenham, however, the draw did little to improve a difficult opening to the league campaign. The London club moved to one point, while Nottingham Forest increased their total to two points.

Marmoush will now be looking to turn his promising movement and attacking threat into goals and assists in the coming matches. He showed that he can create problems for Premier League defenders, but the next step will be adding the final touch in front of goal.
