Egyptian winger Haytham Hassan continued his strong start with Celtic after producing another impressive performance in his side's 2-1 victory over St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership.

Although he did not score or provide an assist, Hassan was one of Celtic's biggest attacking threats and received strong praise from Scottish media and analysts, while also earning the highest rating of the match.

Celtic went into the game looking to continue their impressive run but fell behind when Nicolas Agrafiotis scored from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute.

The visitors responded after the break. Liam Scales equalized in the 51st minute before Yang Hyun-jun scored the winning goal in the 68th minute to complete Celtic's comeback.

The victory took Celtic to 15 points after winning all five of their matches, while St Mirren remained on 10 points.

Hassan started the match and played for around 72 minutes before James Forrest replaced him.

Despite finishing the game without a goal or assist, the Egyptian international remained one of Celtic's most active attacking players.

Hassan attempted four shots, with two on target, and created two chances for his teammates. He also had 45 touches during his time on the pitch.

The Egyptian completed 16 of his 22 passes and succeeded with three of his five dribble attempts.

He recovered the ball three times, won four of his eight ground duels and also won his only aerial duel.

However, Hassan lost possession 17 times, showing that there are still areas of his game that can improve as he becomes more comfortable with Celtic's style.

Former Celtic star and current pundit Chris Sutton highlighted the Egyptian's performance, especially his work in one-on-one situations against St Mirren's defenders.

Scottish media also praised Hassan's pace, determination and direct style, with reports suggesting that opponents are already finding it difficult to deal with him.

However, some analysis also pointed to an area that could make the Egyptian winger even more dangerous.

Hassan relies heavily on his left foot, while his right foot does not currently offer the same level of threat. That can sometimes make his next move easier for defenders to predict.

He also spent long periods staying close to the touchline, but his influence increased when he started moving inside and attacking central areas.

With his pace and technical ability, Hassan has the qualities to play on either side of the attack, but moving inside more often could give him better opportunities to create chances and threaten the goal.

Hassan joined Celtic from Real Oviedo during the summer 2026 transfer window and is already beginning to make his presence felt in Scottish football.
