Conflicting accounts have emerged over the future of Egypt coach Hossam Hassan’s marriage to Dan Adam, with the couple’s status becoming the subject of contradictory statements within hours.

Reports surfaced on Tuesday evening claiming that tensions between Hassan and Dan had escalated and that the pair had agreed to end their marriage, although no formal divorce had taken place.

Dan later directly denied those claims, saying reports of an agreement to separate were untrue and insisting that there were currently no problems between her and Hassan. She also denied that the couple had agreed to divorce.

Dan’s lawyer gives a different account

The situation became more confusing when Dan’s lawyer, Mohamed Shams, subsequently said his client had called him and informed him that she and Hassan had agreed to end their marriage.

Shams said he was heading to meet the couple to understand the details of the dispute, while adding that he intended to try to reconcile them and persuade them to reconsider the decision.

His account directly contradicts Dan’s public denial: while she said there had been no agreement to separate, her lawyer said she personally informed him that such an agreement had been reached.

Dan’s sister Rana also backed the denial, saying she contacted her sister after seeing the reports and was told that her relationship with Hassan remained good and that there was no agreement to separate.

For now, the situation remains unresolved, with conflicting statements from Dan and her lawyer and no confirmation that any formal divorce procedures have been completed.
