Al Ahly’s perfect start to the Egyptian Premier League came to an end after Al Mokawloon Al Arab held them to a 1-1 draw at Al Gabal Al Akhdar Stadium in the fourth round.

Al Ahly were looking for a fourth straight victory under Houcine Ammouta, but Al Mokawloon took the lead before Ahmed Sayed Zizo brought the Red Devils back into the game.

The draw moved Al Ahly to 10 points in third place, two points behind leaders Pyramids, while Al Mokawloon reached four points.

Penalties Decide the Game

The match started carefully before Al Mokawloon created the first clear chance. Idrissa Thiam broke through toward goal, but Amr El Gazar made an important intervention. Al Ahly responded through Zizo, but the move involving Achraf Bencharki and Monsef Bakrar did not produce a goal.

Before half-time, Al Mokawloon were awarded a penalty and Islam Gaber converted it to give the home side the lead.

Al Ahly returned after the break with greater attacking pressure and won a penalty when Bencharki was brought down inside the area. Zizo scored from the spot in the 58th minute to make it 1-1.
