Egypt international Haitham Hassan continued to make his mark at Celtic after registering his first assist for the club and helping his side secure a 1-0 away victory over St Johnstone in the sixth round of the Scottish Premiership.

Hassan started the match after earning the confidence of manager Martin O'Neill and made the attacking contribution that decided the game.

The first half ended goalless, but Hassan produced the key moment shortly after the restart.

Operating from the right side, Hassan beat a St Johnstone defender with a skillful move before sending the ball into the area, where teammate Mika Biereth converted the chance to put Celtic ahead.

The move gave the Egyptian winger his first assist in a Celtic shirt since joining the Scottish club from Real Oviedo during the summer transfer window.

Hassan remained active in attack, using his pace and movement to create problems before being substituted in the 71st minute. Celtic protected their narrow advantage until the final whistle.
