Barcelona have taken an important step in the future of young Egyptian striker Hamza Abdelkarim after reaching an agreement to keep him at the Catalan club until the summer of 2030, showing the growing confidence he has earned in a short period in Spain.

The new deal is about more than simply extending his stay. It comes after several months of rapid progress, starting with his move from Egyptian giants Al Ahly, followed by pre-season training with Barcelona’s first team and eventually his official La Liga debut.

Contract until 2030

Barcelona announced an agreement with Hamza Abdelkarim on a contract running until June 30, 2030, with the official signing ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, at club president Joan Laporta’s office.

The signing is expected to take place at 5:00 p.m. Central European Summer Time, after which the Egyptian forward is set to speak to the media about the next stage of his Barcelona career.

Hamza initially joined Barcelona during the winter transfer window on loan from Al Ahly before the Catalan club decided to make the move permanent during the summer.

According to reports, Barcelona activated their purchase option for around €1.5 million after being convinced by the striker’s potential and his ability to develop further over the coming years.

The Egyptian forward was then handed an important opportunity during Barcelona’s preparations for the new season, training with the first team under German coach Hansi Flick.

Hamza made a strong impression by scoring four goals during pre-season and finishing the preparation period as one of the club’s most impressive young attacking players.

His progress continued on August 31, when he made his official Barcelona debut in La Liga against Rayo Vallecano after coming on as a substitute.
