Mohamed Salah is preparing for a new stage of his career with Trabzonspor after the Turkish club officially appointed German coach Thomas Reis as its new manager, replacing Fatih Tekke following a period of disappointing results.

Reis' arrival is not only another managerial change for Trabzonspor. It also opens a new chapter in Salah's long history of working with German coaches during his European career.

The Egyptian star previously worked with Heiko Vogel at Basel before enjoying his most famous partnership with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool. Now, Thomas Reis becomes the latest German coach to work with Salah, this time in Turkish football.

Reis Starts His Mission

Thomas Reis arrived in Turkey shortly before Trabzonspor officially confirmed his appointment and was welcomed by the club's supporters before the deal was completed.

Reis joins Trabzonspor after his spell with Bulgarian side Ludogorets, with negotiations taking place between the clubs to clear the way for his departure.

Ludogorets sporting director Georgi Karamandzhukov explained that the Bulgarian club could not stop Reis from leaving after the coach expressed his desire to move to Trabzonspor.

He also said there was no fixed €1 million release clause in Reis' contract. Instead, the final compensation depended on negotiations, with Ludogorets potentially receiving more than €1 million.

Reis had even taken charge of Ludogorets' morning training session before receiving permission to travel to Turkey and meet Trabzonspor officials. Talks then moved quickly before the Turkish club announced the agreement.

One of the most interesting parts of the deal was Reis' own approach to the financial side of the move.

According to Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan, the German coach asked the club to deduct part of the compensation paid to Ludogorets from his own salary.

Reis was originally expected to earn around €1.5 million, but his salary will instead be reduced to €1 million after he personally requested the change to help complete his move.

He now takes charge at a time when Trabzonspor are looking to improve their results and bring more stability to the team.

One of Reis' key tasks will be to make the best use of the players already available to him, with Mohamed Salah among the most experienced names in the squad.

Thomas Reis' arrival also brings attention back to Salah's previous experiences with German managers.

The first of those came during the early part of his European career with Basel, where he worked under Heiko Vogel.

He made 349 appearances under Klopp, scoring 211 goals and providing 90 assists.
