Egyptian squash star Mostafa Asal continued his impressive form on the world stage after winning the 2026 Qatar Classic title for the first time in his career, following a convincing victory over France’s Victor Crouin in the men’s final.

Asal, the world No. 1 in men’s squash, entered the final determined to end his Doha campaign in style. He controlled the match from the opening stages and secured a straight-games victory.

The Qatar Classic was held in Doha from September 12 to 18 and was the second tournament of the 2026-27 squash season. The Platinum-level event carried a total prize fund of $220,000.

Asal Seals The Title

Mostafa Asal did not allow his French opponent much time to settle into the match. The Egyptian started strongly and took the opening game 11-5.

He maintained his control in the second game, winning it 11-6 to move one step away from the title.

Asal then produced his most dominant performance of the match in the third game, winning 11-2 to complete a 3-0 victory.

The final lasted 48 minutes, with the world No. 1 celebrating his first Qatar Classic crown and adding another major achievement to his career.

Egypt’s success in Doha was not limited to the men’s competition, as Amina Orfi also captured the women’s Qatar Classic title following a dramatic final against world No. 1 and defending champion Hania El Hammamy.

Orfi won the match 3-2 after a 107-minute battle. The games ended 7-11, 11-7, 11-8, 7-11 and 12-10.
