Tottenham suffered another setback in the Premier League after losing 3-2 to Aston Villa in an entertaining Matchweek Five clash, with Egypt international Omar Marmoush playing the full match.

Tottenham were unable to stop their poor run of results as they fell three goals behind before producing a late comeback attempt. Two goals in the closing minutes gave them hope, but the response came too late to rescue a point.

Villa Take Control

Aston Villa opened the scoring through Johan Manzambi in the 45th minute, giving his side a 1-0 advantage before the halftime break.

Villa increased their lead in the second half when Nicolas Jackson scored the second goal in the 67th minute.

Emiliano Buendia then made it 3-0 in the 79th minute, leaving Tottenham with a difficult task in the final stages.

Tottenham refused to give up, with Conor Gallagher pulling one back in the 82nd minute.

The hosts continued to push forward and Jan Paul van Hecke scored their second goal in the second minute of stoppage time, but there was not enough time to complete the comeback as Aston Villa secured a 3-2 victory.

The result moved Aston Villa to four points and 15th place, while Tottenham remained on two points in 18th position.

Tottenham’s difficult start to the league season also continued, with the team still without a victory after five matches. They have recorded two draws and three defeats.

Marmoush Makes Little Impact

Omar Marmoush started the game and remained on the pitch for the full 90 minutes, but he was unable to score or provide an assist.

The Egyptian attacker registered only one shot during the match, and it was off target. He also finished the game without creating a key chance for his teammates.

Marmoush completed 21 of his 23 attempted passes, giving him a passing accuracy of 91%. He also completed 17 of 18 passes inside Aston Villa’s half.

His dribbling numbers were more positive, as he completed all three of his attempted take-ons. However, he lost possession 12 times during the match.

Marmoush recorded 39 touches overall but was unable to turn his involvement on the ball into a major attacking threat.

Defensively, he completed his only attempted tackle and recovered possession three times. He also won five of his 12 ground duels.

The Egyptian committed one foul and was dribbled past twice.

The defeat increases the pressure on Tottenham following their difficult start to the Premier League campaign, while Marmoush will be looking to make a bigger attacking impact in the coming matches.
