The result has caused dissatisfaction within the federation, especially as Egypt had hoped to continue its run into the final stages of the tournament before its campaign ended against Algeria.

The federation's board is considering dismissing the national team's technical, administrative and medical staff as part of its review of Egypt's performance at the African Championship.

Ahmed Samir is currently the head coach of Egypt's men's national team, but the quarter-final elimination has placed the future of the current staff under discussion as the federation considers its next steps.
