Stephen Curry has settled his future with the Golden State Warriors in a deal that carries more than one important message.

The American superstar has agreed to a new contract that keeps him with the franchise longer while also giving Golden State more financial freedom to improve its roster in the coming years.

Curry agreed to a two-year, $116 million contract extension that will keep him under contract through the 2028-29 season. The move increases the possibility that he will spend his entire NBA career with the organization that drafted him in 2009.

The new agreement also reportedly includes a player option for the final season, giving Curry additional control over his future as he moves closer to the final stage of his career.

His total career earnings from NBA playing contracts are now projected to reach about $652 million, making him the highest on-court earner in league history according to reports.
