Zamalek continues its efforts to review the refereeing decisions made during its derby against Al Ahly, as the club remains determined to listen to the audio recordings from the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) room.

The move comes as part of Zamalek's formal complaint against the Egyptian Football Association's Referees Committee.

Maher Gharib, Zamalek's Media Director, confirmed that the club is waiting for an official response from the Egyptian Football Association regarding its complaint following the match against Al Ahly.

He explained that the club wants to understand the conversations that took place inside the VAR room and review the decisions that caused controversy during the game.

Speaking on the television program "Al Captain," hosted by Ahmed Hassan on DMC, Gharib said Zamalek would follow all official procedures and respect the regulations set by the football authorities.

Zamalek Awaits EFA Response

Gharib explained that Zamalek's next move depends on the Egyptian Football Association's response to the complaint.

The club is waiting for permission to listen to the VAR recordings, along with confirmation of the date and the number of club representatives allowed to attend.

He stressed that Zamalek would fully respect the arrangements made by the football authorities and would not create any problems during the listening session.

According to Gharib, the club's main objective is to understand what happened inside the VAR room and learn more about the discussions behind the refereeing decisions during the derby.

He also made it clear that Zamalek would take each step through the proper official channels.

Slovenian Embassy Translator

Gharib also revealed that Zamalek could request assistance from the Slovenian Embassy in Cairo if a Slovenian translator is needed to understand the VAR conversations.

He explained that the club would contact the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association and ask it to communicate with the embassy to arrange a suitable translator.

This would help Zamalek's representatives understand the recorded conversations accurately and avoid any language difficulties during the review.

However, Gharib clarified that this step would only be taken if translation assistance becomes necessary.

He concluded by saying that Zamalek is still waiting for the Egyptian Football Association to confirm whether the club can access the VAR recordings, how many representatives can attend, and when the listening session will take place.

For now, the refereeing controversy surrounding the Al Ahly-Zamalek derby remains unresolved from Zamalek's perspective, with the club waiting for an official response before deciding on its next steps.
