Nader El Sayed’s Son Returns $100,000 to Zamalek in Acheampong Case: Report

The dispute involving former Zamalek goalkeeper Nader El-Sayed has taken a new turn after his son reportedly repaid the equivalent of $100,000 to the club amid ongoing investigations linked to former player Benjamin Achimpong's financial claims.
The payment came as reports emerged that El-Sayed had been detained for questioning over money he received from Zamalek several years ago to help settle the Ghanaian player's outstanding dues.
Dispute Details
The dispute began when Nader El-Sayed received $100,000 from Zamalek as part of the club's efforts to reach a financial settlement with Achimpong.
According to published reports, El-Sayed received the money while acting as the Ghanaian player's representative and signed a receipt confirming the payment.
The agreement was expected to end the dispute, with Achimpong signing a document confirming that his financial claims had been settled.
However, the agreement was never completed.
Achimpong did not sign the settlement document and continued his legal case against Zamalek through FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Ghanaian player eventually received his outstanding payments through the legal process.
In the latest development, reports indicate that El-Sayed's son visited Zamalek's headquarters and repaid the equivalent of $100,000 to the club as investigations into the original payment continued.
Achimpong Responds
Speaking to Egyptian sports website Btolat, Benjamin Achimpong confirmed that his financial dispute with Zamalek had been resolved several years ago.
The Ghanaian player explained that he had received all his outstanding payments through legal proceedings with the assistance of his lawyer.
Commenting on the reports involving Nader El-Sayed, Achimpong strongly criticized the former goalkeeper, accusing him of greed and selfishness while stressing that his comments depended on the reports being accurate.
Achimpong's lawyer, Roy, also criticized El-Sayed's role in the dispute and argued that he should return the $100,000 he received from Zamalek.
The lawyer emphasized that Achimpong had no involvement in the financial disagreement between El-Sayed and the Egyptian club.
He also confirmed that the player had received his full financial entitlement and that his case against Zamalek had been closed for years.
These developments have brought renewed attention to one of Zamalek's long-running financial disputes.
Although the reported repayment represents a significant development, any final decision on legal responsibility will depend on the outcome of the official investigations.
