Brazilian winger Juan Bezerra has thrust Zamalek into one of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer after releasing a strongly worded statement revealing the details of his dispute with the club. The player claimed he had been promised permission to leave if a suitable offer arrived, only for the club to reverse its position. Zamalek, however, responded decisively by announcing that Bezerra is not for sale, setting the stage for a dispute that could escalate in the coming days.

Bezerra's Statement

In a post on his official Instagram account, Bezerra said he formed a special bond with Zamalek supporters after joining the club in the second half of 2025, adding that he experienced many difficult situations during his time with the team but chose not to reveal them in order to protect the club's stability.

The Brazilian explained that he had previously turned down offers to remain with Zamalek and help the club reclaim the league title. According to his account, club officials later promised to approve his departure if an offer matching their valuation was received. Bezerra insisted that such an offer did arrive, but the club ultimately failed to honor its commitment, arguing that completing the transfer would have benefited both himself and Zamalek financially.

He also stressed that his intention was never to harm the club or its supporters, but that the fans deserved to know what had happened, adding that he had reached a point where he could no longer remain silent.

Zamalek's Response

Zamalek quickly issued an official statement confirming that Bezerra is not for sale during the current transfer window. The club emphasized that the player remains under contract for another three seasons and that no further offers for his transfer will be considered.

The board also denied ever promising to allow Bezerra to leave, calling on him to identify whoever allegedly made such a commitment. In addition, the club instructed the player to return to Cairo immediately and rejoin team training, warning that internal disciplinary regulations would be enforced if he continued to stay away, while reserving all of its legal rights.

Meanwhile, Bezerra remains determined to secure a move, encouraged by a lucrative offer from Shabab Al Ahli. Together with his representatives, he is exploring the legal and administrative options available, while Zamalek continues to seek a resolution that preserves the club's stability ahead of the new season.
