Mohamed Salah played the full 90 minutes for Trabzonspor, but his attacking efforts were not enough to prevent the Turkish side from suffering a 1-0 defeat against Hungarian visitors Ferencváros on Wednesday in the first leg of the Europa League playoff.

Salah started the match and remained on the pitch until the final whistle at Papara Park, producing several attacking attempts as Trabzonspor searched for a way back into the contest. However, the home side failed to make the most of their opportunities.

The Egyptian star remained active in attack during the second half and had another chance to influence the result as Trabzonspor increased their pressure.

The hosts were handed an additional advantage when Ferencváros were reduced to 10 men following a red card, but Trabzonspor could not turn their numerical superiority into an equaliser. Salah and his teammates continued searching for an opening, but the Hungarian defence held firm.

Ninety Minutes Without Reward

Trabzonspor pushed until the final moments, with Salah completing the entire match, but the final whistle confirmed a 1-0 victory for Ferencváros.

The Turkish side will now need a strong response in the second leg to overturn the deficit and keep their European hopes alive. Salah, meanwhile, will look to make an even greater impact in the return match after a night full of effort that ultimately failed to deliver the result Trabzonspor wanted.
