Omar Marmoush has opened a new chapter in his Premier League career after Tottenham Hotspur officially announced the signing of the Egyptian international forward from Manchester City on loan until the end of the 2026-27 season.

The move makes Marmoush the third Egyptian player to represent the north London club after Mido and Hossam Ghaly.

Marmoush will wear the No. 22 shirt at Tottenham, a number associated with successful periods earlier in his career. The transfer also gives him the opportunity to compete for more regular playing time after facing intense competition during his spell at Manchester City.

According to reports surrounding the deal, the agreement includes a mechanism that could turn the loan into a permanent transfer. Marmoush may not have to wait long for his first major challenge in Tottenham colours.

Spurs are scheduled to face Newcastle United on Saturday, August 29, an opponent that brings particularly good memories for the Egyptian, who has scored seven goals against them.

Tottenham will then face a demanding run of fixtures including Nottingham Forest, Everton and Aston Villa, while a League Cup meeting with Liverpool is also on the horizon.

The transfer also revives the Egyptian connection with Tottenham. Mido became the first Egyptian to play for the club, recording 19 goals and six assists in 61 appearances, before Hossam Ghaly followed with three goals and five assists across 34 matches.
