Egypt's Media Syndicate has issued several decisions following the controversy that took place during the “Malab El Bulldozer” program on Al Shams TV, after an on-air argument between former Al Ahly and Egypt star Rabie Yassin and former Zamalek player Osama Hassan.

The decisions came after the syndicate conducted investigations into the incident to determine what happened during the episode and the responsibility of those involved, especially after the discussion between the two guests turned into a heated dispute that ended with Yassin leaving the studio live on air.

Decisions after investigation

The Media Syndicate decided to suspend the program's director and editor-in-chief after finding that a technical mistake had been made while dealing with the situation.

According to the syndicate, the problem was related to the failure to give instructions at the right time to cut the audio from the live broadcast while the dispute was taking place.

The syndicate also issued a warning to the program's host, Magdy Abdel Ghani, as part of the decisions announced following the investigation.

At the same time, the syndicate said Abdel Ghani had tried to calm the situation in the studio. He asked the guests to remain calm and requested a commercial break in an attempt to stop the argument and control the situation.

The decisions also included banning Rabie Yassin and Osama Hassan from media appearances until the legal and professional reasons behind the ban are resolved.

The syndicate stressed the importance of respecting the responsibility that comes with appearing on live television, as well as respecting the public and following professional and social standards during televised discussions.
