After African Exit, Egypt Volleyball Federation Considers Staff Dismissal and Player Fines

The Egyptian Volleyball Federation is considering major changes to the senior men's national team following Egypt's quarter-final exit from the African Championship in Tunisia after a 3-2 defeat to Algeria.
The result has caused dissatisfaction within the federation, especially as Egypt had hoped to continue its run into the final stages of the tournament before its campaign ended against Algeria.
Staff Future Under Review
The federation's board is considering dismissing the national team's technical, administrative and medical staff as part of its review of Egypt's performance at the African Championship.
Ahmed Samir is currently the head coach of Egypt's men's national team, but the quarter-final elimination has placed the future of the current staff under discussion as the federation considers its next steps.
The possible changes come after the team's performance against Algeria, with federation officials expecting a stronger display in a decisive match for a place in the semi-finals.
Egypt and Algeria played a closely contested five-set match, but Algeria eventually secured a 3-2 victory to end Egypt's campaign at the quarter-final stage.
Player Fines Considered
The federation's review may not be limited to the coaching staff, as financial penalties are also being considered for a number of players who did not perform at the expected level against Algeria.
The federation is expected to carry out a full assessment of both the players and the coaching staff before announcing any official decisions. The review is aimed at identifying the reasons behind the early exit and addressing the team's problems ahead of future competitions.
Egypt's squad included Reda Haikal, Mohamed Adel, Yassin Mohamed, Mostafa Gaber, Ahmed Azab, Hamada Othman, Ahmed Youssef Saad, Shehab El-Din Tarek, Abdelrahman El-Hosseiny, Ahmed Saeed, Ahmed Diaa, Mohamed Asran, Mohamed Reda and Hazem Mohamed Abdel Hadi.
The final decision regarding the future of the technical staff and any possible financial penalties for the players remains with the Egyptian Volleyball Federation's board as it reviews the African campaign and prepares its plans for the next stage.
