Ahmed Eid’s spell at Al Ahly appears to be entering a new phase after the right-back moved away from the plans of head coach Hussein Ammouta, opening the door to a possible departure during the upcoming winter transfer window.

According to reports, Ammouta has given Al Ahly’s management the green light to consider offers for the player in January after deciding not to rely on him during the coming period, especially with several other options available at right-back.

Out of the Plans

Ahmed Eid was not included in any of Al Ahly’s squads during their first five Egyptian Premier League matches, making his chances of regular playing time increasingly difficult.

Al Ahly currently have several options on the right side of defence, including Mohamed Hany, Akram Tawfik and Karim Fouad, leaving Eid behind them in the technical staff’s recent selection order.

His continued absence from matchday squads has become a clear sign that earning regular minutes may be difficult, particularly as Ammouta looks to build his plans around players he currently trusts more.

However, opening the door to a departure does not mean that Eid’s next destination has already been decided. Al Ahly are expected to study any offers before making a final decision regarding his future.

Al Ahly are considering several possible solutions for Ahmed Eid during the winter transfer window. These include a permanent move, a loan deal or using the player as part of a swap agreement if a suitable opportunity becomes available.

The situation comes while Al Ahly are using the international break to prepare for the next stage of the season and reorganize their plans ahead of a busy run of fixtures.

The team returned to training after a four-day break, with the coaching staff introducing a program that includes morning and evening sessions during part of the international break to improve the players’ physical and technical readiness.

Al Ahly are also scheduled to play two friendly matches, facing Libyan side Al Ittihad Al Misrati on September 28 before meeting Misr El Makkasa on October 2.

The club’s schedule has also been adjusted for the Capital of Egypt Cup, with the match against Petrojet Assiut reportedly moved forward to October 7 instead of October 8.

Al Ahly will then turn their attention to a major Egyptian Premier League clash against Zamalek at Cairo International Stadium on October 11 in the sixth round of the competition.

Against that background, Ahmed Eid’s future remains one of the files Al Ahly are expected to settle before the winter transfer window opens. The offers received for the player, along with the club management’s assessment, will determine his next step after a departure became a serious option.
