Four Goals in Two Friendlies... Why Is Gradišar Still Heading for a Loan Move?
Slovenian striker Nejc Gradišar has emerged as one of Al Ahly's standout performers during the club's pre-season preparations, scoring four goals in the team's opening two friendly matches under new head coach Hussein Amouta.
The 22-year-old netted twice in Al Ahly's 5-1 victory over Al Nasr before adding another brace in Thursday's emphatic 7-1 win against La Viena, continuing his impressive goalscoring form ahead of the new campaign.
Yet despite his strong performances, Gradišar appears to be closing in on a season-long loan move to Ceramica Cleopatra.
According to multiple Egyptian media reports, Al Ahly and Ceramica Cleopatra have reached an agreement in principle for the striker's loan, with the Red Devils expected to cover part of his salary. The deal is reportedly awaiting the completion of final formalities before being officially announced.

Why Would Al Ahly Loan Him Out?
At first glance, the decision may seem surprising given Gradišar's recent form. However, the club's attacking depth has changed significantly this summer.
Al Ahly recently strengthened their forward line with the signing of Algerian striker Moncef Bakrar, while Mohamed Sherif remains another option in attack. With Hussein Amouta expected to have several forwards competing for limited places, regular playing time could become difficult for Gradišar this season.
A temporary move to Ceramica Cleopatra could therefore benefit both parties. The striker would gain valuable minutes in the Egyptian Premier League, continue his development, and return to Al Ahly with greater experience after a full season of consistent football.
His pre-season performances have nevertheless underlined his potential. Whether he remains at Al Ahly or completes the expected loan move, Gradišar has shown that he is capable of making an impact whenever he is given the opportunity.
