Pyramids Boost Zamalek but Reignite Title Race with Win Over Al Ahly

In a fierce competition in the Egyptian Premier League, the football scene saw unexpected results that were not in favor of both Zamalek and Al Ahly. The former lost two crucial points in their title race, while the latter suffered a surprising defeat to Pyramids.
Zamalek vs Enppi: A Disappointing Draw in the League Battle
In a decisive match of the last round, Zamalek drew 0-0 with Enppi at Cairo International Stadium, losing two valuable points in the league race. The match witnessed early pressure from Enppi, who threatened Zamalek’s goal in the first few minutes. Despite the cancellation of an Enppi goal due to offside in the 17th minute, the team continued to pose a threat. In the 27th minute, Zamalek’s right-back, Omar Gaber, sustained an injury, forcing coach Moamen Gamal to make the first substitution.
At the start of the second half, Zamalek pushed forward with everything they had, missing several clear chances, particularly through Mahmoud El Wensh and Abdullah Said. Despite the attacking substitutions, Zamalek couldn’t break Enppi’s defense, and the match ended with a disappointing 0-0 draw.
League Standings After the Draw:
Zamalek remains at the top of the table with 50 points.
Enppi is in sixth place with 36 points.
Al Ahly vs Pyramids: Pyramids Seals the Victory with a 3-0 Win
In another high-stakes match, Al Ahly suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Pyramids in a game held at the Defense Stadium. The match ended with Pyramids winning 3-0. In the 70th minute, Pyramids' Fiston Mayele opened the scoring, while a few minutes later, Al Ahly’s Mahmoud Trezeguet had a goal ruled out for offside. In the 77th minute, Mayele doubled the lead for Pyramids, before Karim Hafez sealed the win with a penalty in the 94th minute.
League Standings After the Defeat:
Pyramids now has 47 points, moving up to second place, 3 points behind Zamalek.
Al Ahly’s points remain at 44, keeping them in third place in the standings.
The results in these matches highlight the fierce competition between Zamalek, Al Ahly, and Pyramids for the league title. Zamalek, despite staying at the top, finds itself under constant pressure after its draw with Enppi. Meanwhile, Pyramids strengthened its title chances with a significant victory over Al Ahly. On the other hand, Al Ahly is struggling with offensive inefficiency, which complicates their task in the upcoming matches.
