From Loan to Permanent Move.. Hat-Trick Star Hamza Abdel Karim Nears €1.5 Million Move to Barcelona

In a move that reflects Barcelona’s strong confidence in emerging talents, the Catalan club is now close to activating the purchase option for young Egyptian striker Hamza Abdel Karim on a permanent deal, following a short loan spell that has been full of key moments inside La Masia and Barcelona Atlètic.
A standout performance accelerates Barcelona’s decision
Hamza Abdel Karim has been turning heads since joining the team, especially after his exceptional performance against Monte Carlo in a match that ended in a dominant 9-0 victory for Barcelona. The Egyptian forward scored a hat-trick in just a few minutes during the first half, confirming his status as one of the club’s most promising attacking talents.
This breakthrough did not come out of nowhere. It followed a challenging period that included delays in his debut due to administrative work permit issues, as well as an adaptation phase to a completely different playing style compared to Egyptian football, before gradually rising to a strong technical level.
Barcelona makes its decision.. and significant gains for Al Ahly
According to Spanish media reports, Barcelona’s management has already decided to activate the purchase option from Al Ahly in a deal worth around €1.5 million as a base fee.
The agreement also includes additional performance-related bonuses that could raise the total value of the deal to approximately €5 million, depending on appearances with the first team, individual achievements, and his overall development within the club.
In addition, Al Ahly will retain a 15% sell-on clause, ensuring future financial benefit if the player is transferred later in the European market.
A sharp rise in market value reflects rapid development
One of the clearest indicators of Hamza’s progress is the significant increase in his market value over just a few months. It has risen from around €100,000 during his time at Al Ahly to approximately €1 million after his appearances with Barcelona, highlighting the strong impact he has made in a short period.
He has also become one of the most valuable players in Barcelona’s youth squad, with expectations of a gradual promotion to the reserve team and potentially the first team if his development continues.
Although Barcelona has not yet officially finalized all details regarding his progression, internal indicators suggest strong satisfaction with his abilities, along with a plan to closely evaluate his performance before making a final decision about his future with the senior squad.
Hamza Abdel Karim, who has spent only a short time in European football, has already become one of the most promising Egyptian names in Europe, attracting growing media and fan attention as he continues his journey at one of the biggest clubs in the world.
