The latest FIFA rankings for April 2026 have officially confirmed a positive shift for the Egyptian national team. The "Pharaohs" moved up two spots to secure the 29th position globally and 5th in Africa. This improvement comes on the back of a convincing 4-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in their recent friendly match held in Jeddah, showing the team's growing momentum under head coach Hossam Hassan.

FIFA officially recognized the Egypt-Saudi Arabia clash as a full international match after all technical requirements, including the agreed-upon substitution rules, were met. As a result, Egypt earned 3.8 ranking points, which was enough to push them further up the world ladder. This official recognition highlights the importance of every match in the build-up to the 2026 World Cup.
