Pyramids Seal Eyad El Askalany Deal as Official Announcement Nears

Pyramids FC are on the verge of confirming one of their most significant signings of the summer transfer window after completing the necessary steps to bring in Egyptian international defender Eyad El Askalany from Russian side Rostov. The move is part of the club's efforts to strengthen the squad ahead of the 2026–27 season.
El Askalany Nears Completion
El Askalany has successfully passed his medical examination, while Pyramids and Rostov have reached a final agreement on the transfer terms, leaving only the official announcement pending. The defender is expected to arrive in Cairo early next week to complete the remaining formalities before joining the team's preseason preparations.
Transfer Details
The deal will see El Askalany join Pyramids on a one-season loan, with an option for the club to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign. The transfer follows extensive negotiations, with Pyramids targeting a defender capable of combining domestic experience with valuable exposure to European football.
The former Ismaily defender had attracted interest from several Egyptian Premier League clubs, including Al Ahly. However, the Cairo giants ultimately decided not to pursue the deal for technical and financial reasons, allowing Pyramids to move quickly and finalize the agreement.
Pyramids are not expected to stop there, as the club continues to work on additional signings during the current transfer window in a bid to build a squad capable of competing for both domestic and continental titles next season.
