Egypt’s U18 women’s handball team is continuing its remarkable journey at the World Championship currently being held in Romania, after officially learning that China will be its opponent in the quarterfinals. Egypt secured its meeting with China after the Chinese team finished second in its main-round group following a 41-36 defeat to Hungary. Hungary claimed the top spot, avoiding a potential clash with Egypt in the quarterfinal stage.

Egypt will enter Thursday’s match with high confidence after emerging as one of the tournament’s biggest surprises. The team reached the quarterfinals as the unbeaten leader of its group, achieving a historic milestone in its World Championship participation.
