Registration Ban Lifted.. Trezeguet Closes In on Al-Riyadh Move

Saudi club Al-Riyadh are a step closer to completing the signing of Egyptian international Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet after FIFA lifted the registration ban that had prevented the club from registering new players. The decision removes the biggest obstacle to the deal, with an official announcement now appearing increasingly close.
The registration ban had stalled negotiations despite talks between the two parties reaching an advanced stage, as Al-Riyadh could not register new signings until its outstanding financial obligations and related cases were resolved.
Green Light
Al-Riyadh’s management successfully settled the required financial obligations and resolved the cases connected to the sanction, paving the way for FIFA to lift the ban and allow the club to register new players during the current summer transfer window.
With the legal obstacle removed, Trezeguet’s move is now closer to completion. The club is working on finalizing the remaining contractual details ahead of an official announcement and the player’s registration in the squad.
Closer to the Announcement
Al-Riyadh have made the signing of Trezeguet one of their main priorities as part of their plan to strengthen the attacking department before the start of the new season. The club hopes to benefit from the experience he gained with the Egypt national team and during his professional spells in European and Turkish football.
Al-Riyadh are now expected to accelerate the final stages of the deal so Trezeguet can join the squad before the start of the new Saudi Pro League season.
If the remaining contractual procedures are completed as planned, an official announcement is expected in the coming days, ending weeks of uncertainty surrounding the Egyptian winger's future.
