Zamalek are preparing for their second-leg CAF Confederation Cup semi-final against Algeria’s CR Belouizdad, with the coaching staff considering a few minor adjustments to the starting line-up ahead of the match.

The technical staff are working on getting the team ready in the best possible way for the return leg, especially after Zamalek secured a 1-0 win in the first match, giving them a slight edge before the Cairo encounter.

Technical changes under consideration at Zamalek

Among the technical changes being studied by the coaching staff is the possible return of Moroccan player Mahmoud Bentayg to the starting line-up after beginning the first leg on the bench. There is also consideration of using Ahmed Fattouh in midfield, taking advantage of his ability to play in that role and provide the team with more attacking support.

These plans come as part of the coaching staff’s effort to find the most suitable balance on the pitch, helping the team protect its advantage and secure a result that would send them to the final.

CR Belouizdad begin preparations in Cairo

On the other side, CR Belouizdad’s delegation arrived in Cairo in preparation for the match, and the Algerian side decided to hold their training sessions at Wadi Degla’s grounds until the day of the game.

Zamalek have also completed the arrangements for receiving the delegation and organizing their stay. The match will be officiated by Sudanese referee Mahmoud Ali Ismail, assisted by Tunisia’s Khalil Hassani and Mozambique’s Arsenio Shadrick Marengule, while Sudan’s Yasser Ahmed Abdel Aziz will oversee VAR duties.

The match will be played at 6:00 p.m. on Friday at Cairo International Stadium, with Zamalek aiming to build on their first-leg advantage, while CR Belouizdad look to fight back in the tie.
